The Voice of Faith & Professionalism

The National Association of Muslim Police (NAMP) was founded in 2007 by a group of visionary officers who identified a critical gap in faith-based representation. Since then, we have evolved into the primary national body representing Muslim officers and staff across all 43 Home Office police forces.

As a key stakeholder to the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) and the Home Office, NAMP drives the mission for a service that truly reflects the communities it serves.

Why a National Association?

NAMP exists to provide institutional parity and professional protection within a complex policing landscape.

⚖️

Institutional Parity

NAMP sits alongside our sister associations including the Christian Police Association (CPA), Jewish Police Association (JPA), National Sikh Police Association (NSPA), National Black Police Association (NBPA), and the National Police Autism Association (NPAA).

Faith and identity representation is a recognised, essential pillar of the UK police family, ensuring every officer has a collective voice at the highest level of government.

🛡️

Professional Safeguarding

NAMP operates as a national structure for the professional support and development of Muslim officers and staff, in line with the NPCC guidance principles. We act as a dedicated advocate for member welfare, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment where every individual can focus on their operational duties with confidence.

🎯

Our Mission

Actively promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion while leading initiatives to facilitate better workplace environments for Muslims in policing. We are the architects of the inclusive uniform, prayer guidance, and faith-first policies.

🧠

Education & Literacy

Delivering vital training on Islamic awareness and addressing Islamophobia to ensure a more informed and respectful police service. We translate faith into operational reality for thousands of supervisors nationwide.

Strength in Solidarity

Membership is open to all UK Police officers, staff, specials, and volunteers. Whether you are seeking a collective voice, professional support, or religious guidance, NAMP is your national association.
